A concept for a small arts center: board-formed concrete galleries beneath a cedar-clad upper pavilion, set among existing live oaks.

This study imagines a community arts center that needs calm gallery space alongside a public room for events, classes, and evening gatherings.

The galleries sit in a quiet concrete base with controlled daylight. Above them, a cedar-clad pavilion holds the public room and looks out through the oak canopy.

A closer look

Two complementary spaces

The concrete base gives the galleries a calm, controlled setting. The timber pavilion above makes the center’s public life visible from the street and the park.
